The RM 030, developed over a four-year period by Richard Mille, is an exceptional example of modern watchmaking. It features a unique rotor system that prevents overwinding, housed in a lightweight, durable tonneau-shaped case made from titanium, LITAL® alloy, or ceramic. These high-tech materials, commonly used in aerospace and championship racing applications, contribute to its shock-resistant and ergonomic design. The case is crafted through an incredibly detailed 86-step process, showcasing the pinnacle of watchmaking capability while ensuring a comfortable fit on the wrist. Inside, the Caliber RMAR1 automatic movement displays hours, minutes, seconds, and the date, all visible through the sapphire crystal. The skeletonized dial reveals the delicate mechanics, emphasizing the watch's advanced design. The declutchable rotor detaches automatically once the mainspring is fully wound, maintaining the movement's integrity. The RM-030 also includes a power reserve indicator at 9 o'clock and is accentuated by a flexible rubber strap.
